If you are in a Clan Alliance/have a sister clan/family clan and nobody in your current clan is on and you need troops, you can go swing by one of the other clans and get some. Also you can have one clan that's designated for lower Town hall levels, and when they get to a higher level they can advance to the next clan. You can also have one clan that is designated for war and the other is for farming (or if you have heroes upgrading).
